Bandit Football/Cheerleading League
Bandit football/cheerleading registration has begun. Forms may be picked up at Poteau City Hall. Deadline to enter is August 15. Age groups are 3rd/4th & 5th/6th. Cost is $35.00 per participant.
Anyone who is interested in coaching a Bandit football/cheer team needs to contact Billy Bond @ 918-647-1939. Coaches meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 6 @ 7:30 p.m. at Poteau City Hall.
Church League Softball
All games scheduled for Thursday, July 17th have been cancelled & will be made up on Thursday, August 7th.
August 7th games will be played on August 12th.
Fall League Baseball/Softball
Any teams interested in playing fall league at the PARC this fall need to contact Billy Bond @ 918-647-1939. In softball the age groups will be 12U, 10U & 8U. In baseball the age group will be Pee-Wee & Midgets divisions. USSSA rules will be used. Entry fee is as followed. Teams will play a 12 games in the league.
COED 7-3 Open State Tournament
The COED 7-3 Open State Tournament will be held in Poteau for the East on the weekend of August 15-17. The entry fee for this event is $200.00 and must be paid to the state commissioner. The entry deadline is set for Monday August 4th at 5:00pm. This will be a double-elimination event. Teams can enter at www.tournamentasa.com. Softballs will be provided for all adult state tournaments.
The Uniform rule for this tournament is: Players must dress in like shirts (with no body alterations), same color and style with a 6” Arabic whole number of contrasting color or outlined on the back. Guidelines for the 7-3 COED State Tournament
In an effort to have both tournaments playing by the same rules, the following have been established.
This tournament will follow the rules of the O.A.S.A. with the following differences:
1- This will be double elimination events
2- The Home Run Limit will be 3 with all in excess being out
3- Only the 12” optic-yellow ASA 52/300 softball will be used
4- Defensive positioning shall be-one female in the outfield, one female in the infield and the pitcher or catcher (not both) must be a female
5- The batting order shall have a female as one
of the 1st three batters, and then a female shall bat every third
batter, with the 10th batter being a male. If a male gets a base on
balls and a female follows him in the batting order, that batter
will be awarded 2nd base. If a male gets a base on balls and the
following batter is also a male then that batter is awarded only 1st
6- Extra Players-if the extra player rule is used, it can only include one male and one female as extra players. The batting order should then be a female as one of the 1st three batters, and then a female shall bat every third batter. The unlimited EP rule is not an option for this tournament.
